Request - enable private messages

Unread post by andy013 »

Hi, is it possible for an admin to enable private messages for my account? I have been a member here for a while but don't post much (I don't really have anything else to say), but a user recently PM'd me and I would like to reply to him but I can't and I have no way of even telling him that.

Thanks
Andy

You have To answer to some posts in order to be able to answer to messages.

Same here, this is pretty annoying. How many post one has to answer?

I remove it whenever someone asks me to. I totally see how it is annoying, and here was the idea:

Someone was trying to sell products on the forum...among other things.

At some point, I know that no PMs/ new members is unsustainable. I'm willing to remove this restriction, but would need people to watch out for me.

For example, if someone send you a suspicious message, let me know immediately. The whole "see something, say something" thing would have to apply.

There is an incredible amount of PSSD shit that goes on behind the scenes on the forum. When I have turned these locks off in the past, I've had an inordinate amount of cleanup to do afterwards.

If people will be watchdogs for anything suspicious, and maintain that level of vigilance going forwards, I am ok with globally removing the PM ban.

Hi Ghost, I got your message but it still says "We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature." when I try to compose a PM.

I also cannot answer private messages. But I can understand why they had to be removed, i remember getting a bullshit message about some miracle supplement some time ago.
