Amitriptyline - one dose - PSSD and body wide issues

Unread post by Auris »

Hi

I took 10 mg Amitriptyline 4th March as prescribed for nerve pain and crashed by mid March

My unrelenting symptoms are as follows:

Insomnia
Dry skin, muted sweat and changed odour
Shrunken penis
Numb ish penis
No libido at all
Impotence
Watery semen
Emotional blunting
Chronic soft and often yellow stool
Constipation at times as though my gut is dead

Only diazepam has helped me to sleep but I don’t want to rely on it

I also have - to try

Proviron
Lithium carbonate
Cyproheptadine
Gabapentin

Has anyone else been destroyed by a tricyclic?

I’m in the UK where amitriptyline is an exceptionally comin drug prescribed at lower doses for various pain ailments

Carlton from the PSSD Network got PSSD from a tricyclic.

If you only took 1 pill then there is a chance it will return to normal eventually. It might take months or even years though. My own view is that taking any other drugs is much more likely to make things worse. All you can really do is wait and try to live healthy and hope you improve with time. Definitely avoid taking any other drugs that mess around with serotonin. It seems like some people are very sensitive to them and multiple exposures seem to increase your risk of developing long lasting symptoms.

Amitriptyline is tricyclic drug not SSRI, so you have high chance you will come back to normal within month or two.
Fluoxetine 30 mg, caused pssd
Doctor further prescribed 1) amitriptyline 2) paroxetine 3) Lexapro 4) imipramine 5) nortriptyline 5)benzo in 3 years.
Found in reddit about PSSD, threw all drugs.
