Any safe Antidepressant?
Any safe Antidepressant?
Hi
I had pssd for 6 yrs which slowly got resolved up to 90% on testosterone gels. In my country there was a bad batch of gels which I did not realise thinking my pssd has crashed. Now I started testosterone from another company and yet to get my libido and erections back. Might take up to 3 months for trt to work again. In the meantime I have debilitating depression because of no libido ,erections or morning wood. Is there any antidepressant I can try for sleep at least. Haven’t slept more than 2 hrs in 6 months. Is mirtazapine safe? I can’t handle pssd again and if it happens I might do something.

Mate do not touch any antidepressants again. Especially if you were able to get yourself to 90% recovered. Just wait 3 months for the TRT to work again. Trust me it is not worth the risk, you are playing with fire.
We're all gonna make it brah

But what can I do about the insomnia and how do I save my job? Should I take a break from job. The symptoms are so debilitating that it’s affecting my work performance.dangerwood wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 9:53 am Mate do not touch any antidepressants again. Re: Any safe Antidepressant?
firstly how can you have reached 90% recovery if you no longer have libido or erection and you have insomnia?
90% seems overestimated and inconsistent or I misunderstood.
For your sleep problems you could try l-theanine which improves sleep and mood and relaxes.
You can also try CBD. So some say it makes you crash but it's still better than not sleeping and making the situation worse with stress, etc. and above all less problematic than antidepressants.
Mirtazapine, yes you will sleep but it is an anticholinergic so it will not help your libido and it has a strong impact on the digestive system which it slows down.
There is also valerian to relax and prepare for sleep.
Gingko can also help you.
Sports too.

I recovered on TRT but then there was a bad batch of gels. Was doing well for 5 yrs. Did not realise that it was a defective product. Used it for 4 months losing all sexual benefits. Now I have restarted it. Initially it took 3 months to see sexual benefits.Titeuf wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 6:34 pm firstly how can you have reached 90% recovery if you no longer have libido or erection and you have insomnia?

Why don't you take sleep meds?

ah ok, sorry for not understanding you.John321 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:44 amI recovered on TRT but then there was a bad batch of gels. Was doing well for 5 yrs. And so does it work well with testosterone!?
do you need to take it continuously?
I would like to test hormones but firstly I don't know anything about it.
There are so many different products and I don't really understand if it's testosterone or treatments that increase TRT production.
secondly, in Belgium it is difficult to find a doctor who is willing to prescribe these treatments, especially if your blood levels are within the standards that have been established and which mean nothing I think because we are all different.
example I am 2 meters tall so I am not part of the average.
I will certainly try to find treatment through a friend and go to the doctor to present him with a fait accompli and ask him to check it.
I tried Lithium carbonate but had to stop it because of the side effects.
a month after the last dose, I developed psoriasis which I have never had in my life and Lithium is known to trigger psoriasis.

After pssd I checked my hormones and saw that testosterone was low. So started TRT. It worked for 5 yrs slowly improving all symptoms but now with the bad batch I have terrible Ead again and feel suicidalTiteuf wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 7:23 pmah ok, sorry for not understanding you.John321 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:44 amI recovered on TRT but then there was a bad batch of gels. Re: Any safe Antidepressant?
Have you tried melatonin?
Agomelatine is also good for insomnia, and Was good for my anhedonia (at least acutely). But maybe some herbs will work for you, like Valerian or Scull Cap.
Do you get enough magnesium? (about 400-500 mg)
Avoid Ginkgo, it’s a GABA antagonist = will fuck up your sleep (maybe depending upon When your taking it).
A really good advice If you’re waking up a few hours after falling asleep is to drink a teaspoon or two of salt with orange juice (or some else fruit juice) when waking up. It blocks adrenalin and cortisol. VERY effective against early awakenings (which is usually due to adrenalin/cortisol).

Re: Any safe Antidepressant?
If depressed, Ketamine is probably the most safe (and strong) antidepressant. Or psychedelics. But fix your sleep first.
