possible upregulation of receptors with Huperzine A?

Unread post by Titeuf »

I seem to have read a study that talked about long term use of huperzine A and upregulation of acetylcholine receptors.

Is it possible ?
Is this a problem?
If there is upregulation that will mean that I will need more acetylcholine later, right?

The only way to know if a substance works for you is to try it.

There have been studies with Huperzine A for Alzheimer's disease.

From memory, the therapeutic dosage was 400 mcg.
Improved with lithium orotate + 1 mg buspirone. Next test: addition of CBG + CBD.

I would not take this I will link to mesolimbos post look at the part where he talks about acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Hyperzine A is one.

actually, that's what I suspected in my first post.
Maybe I should see a cholinergic rather than an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor or a treatment which downregulates the receptors.
As I said, cigarettes and coffee no longer do anything to me if I abstain from smoking for 24 hours, when I smoke again then my digestive system is immediately activated and my genital sensitivity as well as excitement and erection.

I am currently in the process of starting lithium, it took me a little while to decide to take it.
I'm on day 5 but currently at 400mg.
I read that lithium downregulates acetylcholine receptors on rat skeletal muscles. There is no more information.

If anyone knows of a treatment that can do this, please share.
As well as a substance, herbal treatment without prescription which is cholinergic but not an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor

If you want something acting on cholinergic way maybe try bethanecol.
It was recommended by Dr Healy.
Bethanecol had a sad history with this guy who lied, saying he got cured on it just in order the other people try. But some got better with it and some worst. Don't know...
