PSSD symptoms after Abilify/Aripiprazole

Unread post by icematter »

Hi everyone,

I'm a male over 35+.

As per title, I've started suffering from PSSD symptoms after drastically reducing the medicine on December 2016 until I stopped for more than 1 year but the symptoms didn't go away.
I must say that I've always struggled with impotence while on meds but I used to completely return to normal/recover every time I wanted to check that it was still working (like if I stopped meds for 2-3 days I returned to normal, everything was ok and so I continued taking the meds again). I think that was just mainly due because Abilify used to increase the prolactin in my blood.

But at the end of 2016 I literally crashed and never returned to normal. I thought it was a physical damage but I did some radiographies and nothing was found.
Now 2024 I'm still taking the meds again at 10mg of Aripiprazole per day (which I hope to reduce even more), my prolactin is good though (strangely it seems like it doesn't affect my prolactin level as it used before).

Symptoms in the latest 7-8 years have been the following: size shrinking, impotence/erectile dysfunction, completely blocked orgasms (I can reach ejaculation but no release sensation), feeling of disconnection between brain/mind and genitalia, desensitization of the genitals, very low libido and sexual fantasies, emotionally flat in general.

I want to highlight that Aripiprazole is an antipsychotic (not an SSRI), so I don't even know what to say to the doctors when I try to explain my condition which has the same symptoms of PSSD but it is not PSSD...

Thanks to this forum I read about the arugula diet, I tried it for 2 weeks this summer and it gave me a window of 1 week (so probably because of the Nitric Oxide) but after that period it stopped working and I never tried again.
As soon as I find the strength to fight again I would like to ask to a doctor (I still don't know whether to see an andrologist or an endocrinologist) about any testosterone + estrogen treatment I could possibly try.

In the past years (2-3 times) I've already tried testosterone only treatment + Cialis but nothing happened at all.

Thanks for reading.
