True theory of PSSD

Unread post by krocius »

This information will work for severe form PSSD with anhedonia and emotional blunting but perhaps it can be helpful for mild PSSD with sexual symptoms only.
I already posted it on reddit with some mistakes.
To my opinion, mechanism causing PSSD is fluid accumulation at the extracellular space. SSRI through some mechanism (gut microbiome change is involved too) long-termly alters ability of the body to remove excess fluid from the extracellular space. Free fluid starts to accumulate in extracellular space and Ion concentrations between two fluids starts to correct through the osmosis mechanism and fluid accumulation is happening inside of the nervous (not only) cell. Ions leave the cells. Cell replenish loses from serum electrolytes but overtime serum quantity can reduce too and cells cannot do it so efficiently so cells ions starts to drop too. That is moment when symptoms get worse. Everyone face it after some time. You can find and check your serum potassium blood test 2 years ago and today. And don’t mistake serum and intracellular electrolytes please.
SSRI is already known to induce SIADH inducing removing sodium from blood
There are 3 primary intracellular ions that get tested. Magnesium, potassium, phosphate and protein. They were found elevated in urine in different people with PSSD and propecia forum. It means cells flushes them out constantly. These diseases are very similar. Some ions dominate outside some inside. You can check here.

Erythrocytes ions borderline low. Intracellular ions precisely. Calcium is fine. There are all different people with same pattern. Precisely intracellular electrolytes get excreted or low.

Technically these are different diseases from different drugs but symptoms are very similar.
Unfortunately, people do not share lab tests with me and I do not have laboratory and resources to provide more. However, pattern is too decent to be ignored because at least 4 people shared it.
As you know, cells require ions to function and there are different ions outside and inside of the cell as well as ion gates.
What happens if there is too much fluid in the cell? Resting potential is changed, it’s more difficult to depolarize it, cell can stop working. You cannot cry, laugh, feel. It explains any symptom of severe PSSD.
Some people try random drugs but drug molecule use ions to get inside of the cell when fluid overload exists already. Cell spend ions and cannot replenish at the same capacity because serum concentration can be reduced already because of constant replenishing. And your symptoms get worse. Some people use solutes (inositol) that messes up with particles concentrations what can lead to worsening.

What is partly to blame? Unfortunately, there is too much propaganda about drinking 2-3 liters water daily. It is not necessary and unnatural. It is hypotonic and flushes out electrolytes. Before PSSD body could handle it but after it cannot as mechanism of removing excess is broken and too much fluid gets inside of the cell. When you treat PSSD you should rely only on thirst feeling. It is mechanism of evolution and worked for million years.

There is useless food. For example, wheat only takes something and do not give anything back as well as a sugar. Caffeine. Milk because of calcium. Potatoes are bad too.
Firstly, I recommend dense vegan food. Not too watery. It moves through GI tract very fast and absorbs a lot of fluid and many minerals.

You add electrolytes. Potassium, magnesium, white fish high in protein and phosphate. Not mega doses.

You add diuretic to remove fluid excess. I used acetazolamide.

If you just lay at the bad this may not work. Cells may not absorb anything. You need to do something physical. My experience. You can start with walking

For example you ate, something right took sups and go for a walk or more serious exercise.

You do not drink 3 liters every day. Your body tells you not to. Drink when your body tells you to do so. Some may have psychogenic polydipsia also.

It may be not so simple to do if you are alone. But at least you have some knowledge and hope.

Why cells start lose cells? It needs further investigating. I think it is result of microbiome PH or gas concentration changes.

When fluid concentration outside of cell will drop, the body starts to absorb electrolytes and you will feel better immediately. We keep 120 gram of potassium inside of the cells.

I didn’t mention all things. I will add later.

It literally feels like electrolytes taken before excercise get back into the cells rapidly. I notice changes in mental state soon after. I checked it with magnesium which i took it on empty stomach. Unfortunately if i drink water all improvements can be gone.
It feels like you need to maintain improvement for sometime and it becomes harder to lose.
Improvement can be gone after eating wrong food too. If you are experienced you know about that cases.

My hypothesis about how people crush permanently after trying something:
people use some molecule, molecule took 5 potassium ions to get inside. 5 potassium ions went outside and got flushed. It become harder to activate the cell again. cell was not able to replace it back. and took calcium instead or something. i'm sure mechanism is simillar and lab results prove it.
Emotional numbness means just cell do not depolarize. They just don't react. Perhaps some molecule (serotonin) try to stimulate it but it can't enter.
Something clicked and cell started to lose ions all the time.
Drinking 3 litres water as a habit daily keep maintaining this process.
I could make some mistakes but i tried to explain a priniciple.

People develop PSSD having no fatigue. They still have enough ions inside of the cells and in the serum. But all the time ions continuted tflushing out. Cells take from the serum to replace and after some time even serum amount becomes to low too. You develop fatigue as they are needed for physical movement.

In most cases people with pssd don't activate sympathetic system at all. I don't have any other solution. Yoga is fine. Obviously you can't swallow a pill and get cured everytime. It seems it's only way to fix things in my experience with right diet and supps to restore the balance. For some reasons intracellular ions absorbs in PSSD only when sympathetic system is activated. That's common mistake people make. People lay at the bad and try random pills without any results. They don't even reach target.

I meant sympathetic*

It looks like something sucking elements from sympathetic system all the time. Insane.

You have to restrict competitors of intracellular ions initially. They can drag you back. And don't too much of electrolytes at once
viewtopic.php?t=4688 Why do calcium supplements ruin my libido even more?
Maybe this can prove my words. Calcium is competitor of magnesium.

Apparently some mechanism wants make us zombie. it wants make us laying at the bed all day. It drains all juices from sympathetic system over time to zombify us even more. Until almost nothing left. It can even make you sceptical to my words so you continue laying.

It also makes you eat preferable food sources for it making you more zombie. It sounds like i'm insane but i'm not. I'm totally sane.

You probably don't believe but i was so stupid 3 years ago and i was not able to speak english at all. I think some of you in the same state

Healthy Drinks Rich in Electrolytes

- Coconut water
- Lemon water with salt
- Milk

A natural electrolyte source, coconut water holds many benefits to enhance sexual health.
Coconut water is a "natural alternative to Viagra" because it "stimulates and strengthens reproductive functions, especially in men. In a medical study, women in their mid-sixties reported an increase in their libido after drinking coconut water."
Coconut water has many beneficial effects on health since it contains electrolyte, vitamins, sugar, protein, antioxidants, minerals, cytokinins and dietary fiber.
Coconut water is the clear liquid that is found inside a young coconut. It is a natural source of electrolytes, such as potassium, sodium, and magnesium, and is low in calories and carbohydrates. For ages, coconut water has been used as an aphrodisiac. It is thought to help improve sexual function by increasing libido and blood flow to the penis. Additionally, coconut water is a natural diuretic, which can help reduce the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and other prostate problems
Results: The levels of testosterone, FSH and LH were significantly increased, while prolactin was significantly decreased when compared with the control (P<0.05). Conclusion: This result implies probably that the consumption of coconut water could enhance reproductive functions in Albino Wistar rats and likely to increase the fertility.

To summarise:
it seems we've been losing ions inside of the cells constantly.
To leave cells ions require fluid to abbsorb and urinate it.
We increase supply intracellular ions and decrease supply of fluid.
we add mild diuretic it's safe. it makes everything more effective. start with low dose
We control fluid intake so everything don't get flushed out again. Thirst feeling is fine.
To make ions get in we stimulate sympathetic nervous system at the same time for the best result.

For example: you take pill of magnesium on empty stomach then run or walk or do push ups. or mg + potassium. or potassium. then you observe how you feel. i don't know doses too. need to figure it out.
vegan diet without watery food is the best. it has everything. 80 vegan + protein is fine.

I already tried all these things. It's not pure theory. But this thing always drag you back.
Acetozolamide (Diuretic) sometime induced short panic attacks, sometimes relaxed states.
After sometime i started feeling good feeling when you stretch muscle in the body. didn't feel it for a long time. everything was improving.
but this thing can return you quckly - simply because of low supply of ions. you water overload one time and everything is back. when you initially get pssd your pools are full. you have more windows, not so severe form. because it's more easy for body randomly switch to other state. people with severe form can clearly understand me.
120 grams takes time to replace. but maybe high doses can solve this? but it can lead to hyperkalemia also.

this time i want to solve this finally.

And about famous hangover effect. People experience change in mental state sometime after alcohol is gone. What alcohol also do? He causing dehydrataion and change fluid balance. Cells exchange ions with fluid outside.

Cells exchange ions with fluid outside. When fluid is altered exchange is different and behaviour of the cells is also different.
