Is this a common symptom amongst those with PSSD?

Yes. I had that for months. It is nerve pain. I also came across a guy on YouTube with PSSD who had same symptom. Avoid sitting for long periods and avoid sleeping on your back. Use a donut pillow for sitting down. It only disappeared when I got steroids injected in the pelvic area.

I developed PSSD in 1998 and have had a burning/aching feeling ever since...cant really say where the pain is coming from, but in the area of penis/testicles/prostate/perineum, its not like a urinary tract infection (stinging), just a general pain in that area, I have used paracetamol and ibuprofen but it didnt really help....I gradually got used to it, there were times when it flared up but nothing too serious. I had cancer (non related) in 2015 and was given oral morphine for pain during and after treatment, this was the only thing that touched the genital pain...fantastic relief!
Unfortunately I had a really bad crash after using Hydrocortisone cream in 2020 which has made this pain quite unbearable, Ive been given naproxen and codeine but this has not given any relief...just side effects!
Ive seen a urologist and had an MRI of the pelvic region, the only thing he found were two very small herinias which in his opinion would not cause this sort of pain, he seemed to think it was due to pelvic floor tension. I saw a physio who specialised in pelvic pain, I followed her advice with gentle exercise, some stretches and sitting techniques as well as using non bio washing powder for underwear (evidently some powders can cause irritation of the pudendal nerve which has some branches in the anus). I must say I havent had any relief from the pain using these techniques.
Meditation and a different attitude towards the pain may be helping me, but cant say its the cure.
Personally I would be wary of using steroids again after my reaction to Hydrocortisone.
Hope you find some relief....please let us know if you find anything that helps. btw my PSSD was caused by Sertraline (Zoloft) too.
Male
PSSD after 3 days on Sertraline (50mg) (Aurobindo) December 2016 to date.
Tinnitus, insomnia (1.5 hours/night sleep) poor memory/cognition as a bonus!
Possibly PSSD from October 1998...just didn't realise what I was suffering from! (pre internet)
