Temporary PSSD recovery of 5 days from after surgery medications

Unread post by FindGoodNickname »

Hello!

I suffer from PSSD since 2 years after withdrawal from Sertraline.
One month after withdrawal, I noticed that I no longer watch porn.
And I have all the typical PSSD symptoms, but no brain fog or zaps.

A few months ago, I underwent belly fat surgery.
During the week after it, my PSSD symptoms were completely gone.
I asked the doctors which medicaments I received.

I mailed the list to Prof. Healy.

He estimated the medicaments.
I asked my PG to prescribe me the one most promising medication again so that I could try to re-produce the effect.
It was a very potent Glucosteroid.
My PG was afraid to prescribe it to me. He told me that one of his patients took it for a few weeks and had to go to the psychiatry because of cortisone psychosis.
He prescribed it to me anyways.

I took the same amount as after the surgery.
However, this time, it was a complete disaster. I experienced extreme anger, horrible mood and almost depersonalization.
And I can assure anybody that this was not placebo effect.

I stopped it after 2 days, and it took 5 days until these effects were gone again.

The other medications were given to me during the surgery and required observation, so I did not try them out again.

Even though I could not reproduce the effects, it showed me that the changes are not permanent.
I hate it when people write this about PSSD.

I'm ashamed to tell, but I took a photo of the huge ejaculation volume during the temporary PSSD recovery (or what you might call this window) because I wanted to have a proof.

Now, the ejaculation volume is minimal again. I'm just saying this to prove that I do have PSSD and that it really was different for a few days.

Interesting enough yesterday I had that "A-ha" moment with HPA Axis Dysfunction (mainly the adrenals, which produces glucocorticoids and glucosteroids and guess what, dopamine too) being the very reason for my PSSD, at least, and of most other cases too. I would eat my shoes if it is not the reason.

I was even thinking about giving you guys some reasons and "proofs" about my theory. But I have SO much that I just don't have the time to post here right now. It's insane how things connect in my point of view and with this knowledge.

I plan to post maybe anytime soon. And obvsly I can be wrong, but I really think I'm not.

perhaps the belly fat produces hormones that causes your PSSD?

I'm sure, that cortisol is heavily involved in PSSD. Either it s the source or heavily affected by the route cause and that s why I would also suspect the belly fat removal as a reason for your window? a short recovery, a break of the vicious cycle of PSSD?

Let's see, if your belly fat will come back in the same quality and quantity.

I suffer from ugly belly fat too since taking the AD which made my biggest crash (sertraline).
I remember that, when I had one of my very few windows since PSSD (2017), my belly fat was less present at my hips. Before PSSD I had fat upper the gluteus medius, now I have also a fat Lifebuoy around the gluteus minimus, see here:
https://www.facebook.com/freedomphyswel ... 691775363/
And I was able to lose all the fat depots easily before PSSD, even upper the gluteus medius, but now... I need a hardcore diet to get goot results, but the pathological Fat distribution remains.
Further notes:
my fat was always very hard/solid, now my fat shakes when I walk. When I'm naked, I feel it shaking. I feel like a female belly dancer... it s so aqueous. nobody of my siblings (2 male, 1 female) and my father have this problem, although he and one of my brothers are older than me. So it can t be an aging thing.

This is SO familiar! Can you please provide the exact list of medications. It could have been a combining effect as well. Can you name the “glucosteeoid”. I’m assuming you mean a glucorticoid steroid. It’s important to know which one. Was is prednisone, dexamethasone, etc? And was dosage the same as after surgery. Because normally it’s a massive dose day one and tapers throughout the week. This has happened to me after surgery as well. Only the large dose steroid work. Which is why I believe most likely it’s a feedback loop with hpa axis. It only works with a large initial dose of steroid. Hence why cortisone injections can reverse all symptoms for me for a couple weeks. But smaller dose steroids do not.
If this was close to the first time you took the steroids after surgery it would not have worked again. Why, I have no idea. But I’ve played around for 18 years with so many steroid trying to figure this out.
There was this guy in propecia help that had to be hospitalized and was in massive doses of prednisone. He had to have them IVd as the doses wer very high. It cured his condition.

What do you mean by this? I am not well versed in medical things or biology so pls explain in layman's terms. Are you saying the adrenal glands aren't working or?
Sertraline 2018-2019
Fluoxetine November 2020
Symptoms low libido and ED

Methylprednisolone is supposed to be stronger.
This is interesting. In Multiple Sclerosis we use 1gram IV for 3 to 5 days when they have new episode. For short time like this we don't need to decrease slowly and I never had very bad side effects in my patients from this. Maybe it could worth to try it.
For sure corticosteroids alter testosterone and also SHBG so maybe it reboot for a moment the system. Maybe large dose like 1g a day for 5 days could have a more lasting effect...
