It's official: Flibanserin, or 'female Viagra,' to hit U.S. market in October. Thoughts?

This drug has been mentioned on here before, and it was approved today by the FDA and is supposed to be available by October, according to Newsweek. (http://bit.ly/1gVrVO3)

The "female Viagra" bit is a misnomer as this drug is not meant to affect blood flow. It also doesn't work on hormones.

It is supposed to enhance libido in women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder by lowering serotonin and enhancing dopamine and norepinephrine function.

The drug functions in part as a 5HT1A agonist.

What do you guys think? I may try it. I'm definitely curious.

It could help initially (probably tremendously), but I doubt in its effectiveness long term. Interested in user reports though. I'll wait some time in case of "flibanserin induced sexual dysfunction"
