MAO inhibitors

Unread post by Ch21 »

Hello guys.

I'm very depressed right now and bupropion doesn't really help me. MAO inhibitors shouldn't have any sexual side effects either.
Are MAO-inhibitors like Moclobemid safe with PSSD?

I have seen people who did great with moclobemid after being hit by SSRi. "safe" is kinda difficult to know, but moclo is actually pro sexual.

Ok. It is said that serotonin decreases libido, so I have concerns.

Parnate and Moclobemide can increase libido, I still think about to try Parnate. Moclobemide was like a sugar pill for me.
June 2015 - April 2016 Fluoxetine
April 2016 - March 2017 Fluvoxamine
December 2017 9 days Trazodone
After Trazodone PSSD: loss of libido & spontaneous/night/morning erections, prostate/pelvic pain, genital numbness, lower sperm count, Anhedonia

Ever tried alpha blockers for pelvic tension, Ed ? I wonder if you have excessive noradrenaline due to trazadon withdrawal since it blocks alpha receptors

Not yet, I'm afraight of retrograde ejaculation side effect of them. The exessive noradrenaline theory doesn't make sense to me, my scrotum is more hanging and I have no more anxiety since Trazo (more a sign of low levels NA) and It's an alpha blocker itself.

Could you please elaborate?
I noticed my scrotum has been constantly tight for weeks. Is this anxiety related or what?
Escitalopram, 10mg/day, Jan-May 2019. Fluoxetine, May-Sept 2019. Mirtazapine 7,5mg/day, November 2019-January 2020. Escitalopram, 5mg/day, Feb-May 2020.
Symptoms: sexual & emotional numbness

Tight is usually noradrenaline, if you are in danger or feel nervous/anxious the scrotum usually contract because more noradrenaline is released.
