Magnesium

Unread post by Frog »

Hi, I looked for a specific thread on magnesium but couldn’t find one. Apologies if there is one already. I’m considering trying it to help with oxytocin as I’ve seen it recommended on here. After looking I’ve seen a post saying not to take it from a methyl donor. Could someone please explain what this means and forms to avoid? The one I have is bisglycinate. Thanks!

In that case, maybe Vitamin C could be the way to go for this

First couple of days taking magnesium, I notice slight improvements in libido, erection quality, and genital sensation. After that everything gets worse including cognitive symptoms. Magnesium is essential for serotonin synthesis, thus it raises serotonin levels even higher, which is not good for our condition. It also helps 5ht1a agonists bind to receptors. Try to avoid magnesium rich food and taking magnesium for a lengthy period of time as you could very easily worsen condition.

I agree with everyone here on this thread.

Magneisum makes me feel much worse too.

Makes me feel weak in the gym, low blood pressure and worsens PSSD.

It also increases my REM Sleep, which is a bad thing for me. The less REM I get, the better I feel

I have noticed now that after taking one or two magnesium doses here and there, as well as when I eat hazelnuts which are high in magneiusm, I have felt very bad. This includeds a worsening of anhedonia from bearable to unbearable, overall uneasy sense of calm, more numbness in genitals.

It's really just now that I've been able to clearly associate magnesium with this and currently in a bad wave as a result. This wave is more cognitive/emotional as I feel really out of it and not myself, which hadn't been so bad before.

I hope I level out from it soon. Last time I took magnesium I wound up feeling okay again.

I have found some studies that show SSRIs lower magnesium in the seminal vessel fluid of rats.
