From an other 2013 article. Translated by italian

Pharmacogenetics
of tardive dyskinesia
A substantial number of case studies
control was performed on the genes
involved in drug metabolism
antipsychotics, such as those on cytochrome P450 and related genes
oxidative stress (CYP), as well as on
genes of the various related neurotransmitters. These studies have produced results that, although still controversial, appear substantially overlapping for some polymorphisms such as CYP2D6 * 10, DRD2Ala9Val,
Taq1A, DRD3Ser9Gly, HTR2AT102C e
MnSOD. Furthermore, genetic association studies (GWAS) on the susceptibility of tardive dyskinesia allowed to identify the association
with rs7669317 su4q 24, gene Gli2,
genes of the GABA pathway and HSPG2.6 genes
Furthermore, given the persistence of symptoms often even after drug withdrawal, it is possible to hypothesize an epigenetic component in
particularly for tardive dyskinesia:
some studies are currently in
course to evaluate this statement

Interesting. I have always thought things like PSSD, tardive dysphoria, tardive dyskensia are somewhat similair in what is keeping them persistent/permanent. Epigenetic alterations caused by the drug of use.
