I can feel my genitals again (female) [butterbur + feverfew]
Hello everyone,
I'm a female in my late 20s, I've had pssd since 17ish years old. So around 10 years. I've tried multiple treatments, natural and prescription (you can find some info in my previous posts if interested).
My main issue was emotional anhedonia which is better now like 85%. I reached that point through healthy lifestyle (meaning eating healthy, exercise 4-5 times a week, no drugs, cigarettes and very rarely alcohol) and therapy.
And another issue lack of sensitivity in my genitals /arousal problems/ anorgasmia . So in short I couldn't feel my genitals and took very long to orgasm if I did.
I tried so many things for that. Nootropics helped a bit getting the mind to genital connection, but still no sensitivity. Then bupropion made everything normal but went back to not working in two days or so.
So now to the point. I ordered online butterbur + feverfew supplements because I read that it helps with headaches. It was total fail as a headache treatment because it actually gave me headaches, but! I can feel my genitals again. Sensitivity is totally back. I orgasm in no time. Now I don't know how long this will last, so far its been four days and it's still working. I'm amazed that this completely random supplement did this.
I am 100% certain that it's because of it since I didn't change anything else in my life. Now if only it didn't give me headache everything would be perfect. But maybe my body will get used to it.
It's quite inexpensive and I think it's worth a try.
I got butterbur with added feverfew from NOW brand. I take one capsule a day.

Re: I can feel my genitals again (female)
I tried feverfew and did not notice any action on pssd.
Re: I can feel my genitals again (female)
Do you feel pleasure touching your genitals, as in they feel sensitive? Or you can just feel them again? Also did your orgasms improve?

Interesting, thanks for sharing. A quick google search lead me to this article:

It says that feverfew has an inhibitory effect on serotonin release from blood platelets. I’m not a medical expert, so I don’t know what to make of this. However, there seems to be a connection to 5-HT. What do you guys think?

In our previous study, we found that petasin also inhibits the production of testosterone from rat testicular interstitial cells and has an inhibitory effect on corticosterone production from rat ZFR cells through reducing the activities of adenylyl cyclase, P450scc and 11β-hydroxylase (12). All of these results show that petasin indeed influences some biochemical processes via inhibition of enzymes expressed in prostate cancer.
The study abstract also mentions that eugenol is being investigated for its activity as an estrogen receptor antagonist.

Parthenolide has a variety of reported in vitro biological activities, including:
Inhibition HDAC1 protein without affecting other class I/II HDACs, which leads to sustained DNA damage response in certain cells (required for apoptosis).[1]
Modulation of the NF-κB-mediated inflammatory responses in experimental atherosclerosis.[2]
(NF-kappaB regulates androgen receptor expression and prostate cancer growth. We found that NF-kappaB expression in prostate cancer cells significantly increased AR mRNA and protein levels, AR transactivation activity, serum prostate-specific antigen levels, and cell proliferation. NF-kappaB inhibitors decrease AR expression levels, prostate-specific antigen secretion, and proliferation of prostate cancer cells in vitro. Furthermore, inhibitors of NF-kappaB demonstrated anti-tumor activity in androgen deprivation-resistant prostate cancer xenografts. In addition, levels of both NF-kappaB and AR were strongly correlated in human prostate cancer. Our data suggest that NF-kappaB can regulate AR expression in prostate cancer and that NF-kappaB inhibitors may have therapeutic potential.)
intraneural or systemic application promotes axon regeneration in the peripheral nervous system [3]

It's all trial and error. None of known pssd treatments worked for me.AdvencedResearchPL wrote:I tried feverfew and did not notice any action on pssd.

Yes, it's true, it can make you batter, it can do nothing, or i can make worse.Ewe wrote:It's all trial and error. None of known pssd treatments worked for me.AdvencedResearchPL wrote:I tried feverfew and did not notice any action on pssd.
Acording to the information that i found, i would like to avoid this treatment in case that i'm a male. There are more chances to work if you are a women.
Re: I can feel my genitals again (female)
Makes sense for me personally, I read somewhere that Feverfew had 5ht2a antagonistic properties. 5ht2a antagonists, Trazodone, specifically, helped with genital sensitivity, harder erections, and feeling more intense orgasms, especially when not fapping until getting a sexual urge

Ewe! I remember you from the old forum, you were there when I was traumatized for the discovery of PSSD.
I'm glad that you now have this unexpected breath of hope thanks to these drugs. This shows that things can move even after many years .. somehow.
