How open are you about PSSD?
Out of curiosity, how willing are you all to share your PSSD struggles with people around you who aren’t suffering?
I’m very open about PSSD with friends and family, because I feel that I need to let people know how fucked up these drugs are. However, sometimes coworkers will ask me if I’m dating, and I have to make up some shit like “I’m just taking a break at the moment.”
How do you all handle situations like that?

Fluoxetine (Prozac) from August '16 to February '17. No sex drive, severe erectile dysfunction, pronounced anhedonia.
Re: How open are you about PSSD?
I only talked about it with two friends who have been a couple for a long time, and with my parents, for the rest I do not talk to anyone. When colleagues ask me questions I answer with some lies. Talking with those who do not have pssd is useless, but it is frustrating
Re: How open are you about PSSD?
I don't talk about my problems in general even with my familly because most people really just don't care about others problems and also because they may start annoying you with obvious "advices" in order to appear like they care.
But I do talk about some vague asexuality or sexual problems when I meet someone who seems interested in me...

Thanks for the information.

Can you have relationships? I would like but I can not, what do I tell?Delfador wrote:I don't talk about my problems in general even with my familly because most people really just don't care about others problems and also because they may start annoying you with obvious "advices" in order to appear like they care.

I limit the details... I've made statements like "yeah, SSRIs have really bad sexual sides. My libido still feels pretty dead after use." I don't get into the other details about numbness, erectile dysfunction, lack of morning wood, etc. though.
@pep19, I think you can still have a relationship. If you need the assistance of Viagra to get it up for sexual activity, you could choose to do so. You may not even need that depending on the severity of your condition though.

Fluoxetine Jan. '16 - Aug. 16'. Low libido, weak erections, CNS dysfunction, anhedonia
Windows on the following: Inositol, choline, NAC + Histidine, MSM, SJW, L-Arginine, Sildenafil, Naltrexone, boron

Re: How open are you about PSSD?
This problem is so oppressive, that after a while I could no longer bear it alone and shared my immediate family and my good friends.
The ability to have sex is part of the masculine identity and therefore I am ashamed to tell other people about this problem.
It's really unpleasant and comfortable all the time to make excuses for why I do not want to date and get to know girls. I can not have sex at all (Viagra does not help either) so I can not go out at all.

Im not only my family Doctor, and the specialists I see know of my problem. Ive kinda touched on it with a few friends but spare the details
Re: How open are you about PSSD?
Trying to be more so now. I guess as you get older, sex seems easier to speak about...less of a big secret. I have opened up to a few partners and friends who have been considering ssri. I would take all the embarrassment in the world to prevent a family or friend experiencing this
