Unfortunately, I still have trouble getting physically aroused and i still lack genital sensitivity, which makes foreplay, intimacy and sex very difficult. These symptoms have never improved at all—I’ve never even had temporary “windows.”

Wow, really? That's great! I'm still waiting for improvements. Like you, I have never had a window.

I have windows of improvement where I get morning wood and sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a rock solid erection. I hope that this shows that my testosterone levels seem to be OK. When I do have sex I can maintain erection and I experience orgasm. During these windows I sometimes masturbate and orgasm, even without watching porn or sexy images. But these windows are shortlasting, maybe couple of days, and I am again in a OFF mode.

I do exercise regularly, at least I'm trying to, I'm lifting weights, doing bench presses, not doing much aerobic, mainly anaerobic exercise. Maybe we could reset our brain with vigorous anaerobic exercise, eating shitload of protein and abstaining from all unhealthy food. On the other hand, when I see people drinking alcohol, smoking all sort of shit, eating garbage food, living unhealthy and fucking like rabbits I kind of lose motivation.
Cipralex (escitalopram) from september 2012 to september 2013. Forgot exact dosage. PSSD improving since taking 20g MSM powder per day, no porn and regular heavy lifting fitness routine. Stay strong!

It does suck now but when we come out of this we'll have a far deeper respect for our sexuality, emotions and physical health than most. Most people have to learn the lessons we're learning as a form of damage control when they get old. We'll reap the benefits for most of our lives
PSSD Since March 2016 after 4 weeks on Sertraline
Conditioned worsened and peaked in April, since then possibly seen a 20% improvement
Would be useful for data collection if people could add their histories in their signature

Thats injustice at its best, my friend. I can completely relate with that thought. But, like Raven said we will appreciate our health more when we are better. I would stay away from drugs and alcohol for the most part even if i was 100% pssd free right now.
PSSD after 9 days on cipralex 10mg (escitalopram), July 2013.
Had sexual sides from the first dose. Developed full pssd after i stopped.
Slowly improved to 70% of normal within 3.5 years.
"Crashed" again on April 2017.
Severe pssd again.

Thats so true Raven -I always took my health and sexuality for granted, at times I wished I had lower libido, and now I know what I miss.
I will be so much more grateful if I get myself back. Things like not being able to feel the buzz of alcohol and simple pleasures like relating to people and feeling infatuated now seem so far away. Yet Im hopeful Ill get there in time.

Here is a summary of problems caused immediately by my PSSD , followed by details of any changes noticed in the last 8 months.
1. Poor and difficult to achieve erections only by manual stimulation.
8M+. Tried using Maca root (2 or 3 doses) made things even worse and has persisted, and later Ginkgo Biloba (one dose) caused anorgasmia, this resolved after 2 or 3 days, though my desire for sex seems a bit patchy after this experience.
2. Reduced semen volume, perhaps down by 50%
8M+. Volume about the same but a bit lumpy mixed clear and white.
3. No reaction to visual stimuli, porn or real life…I know how I should be feeling but its just not there.
8M+. Very occasional sparks of sexual interest visually…very fleeting.
4. Mental problems: Confusion, memory loss, strange feeling that I still have the knowledge etc but just cant get to it. Generally feeling a bit thick and not as sharp as I used to be.
8M+ This has been the area of most improvement. I can now look at a page full of famous faces and can name almost all of them, and have the knowledge that the ones I cant name I didn’t know anyway…i.e access has been improved. I can now win the occasional game of Scrabble against a very good opponent, and do much better on the “word mix” android app. This does give me real hope that other aspects will follow.
5. Anhedonia…I never really appreciated this at first because I was in such a state.
8M+. In February I went to see Green day at the O2, I remember feeling I wasn’t feeling as excited as I thought I would be. I have since noticed a slight feeling of not being entirely with the rest of the crowd at football., though I still get the massive rush when my team scores. Music in the car and radio seems to be about the same feeling wise. So not as bad as some guys.
6. Social wise I was very withdrawn after PSSD set in.
8M+. I’m not sure if trying to test myself or not, but I have been so much more social than I have ever been…going to all sorts of groups and gatherings and speaking to all sorts of women with a confidence I have never known! The reaction I am getting is also very positive…something I should have done years ago. I have not followed up any of these sexually, I guess Im a bit scared what will happen, but I do get the feeling that things will go better than I imagine.
7. Tinnitus, very high pitched tone in both ears.
8M+ No change
8. Insomnia, 1.5 hours per night maximum.
8M+. Essentially no change, but Nytol does give me 4-5 hours. If I go to bed too late, it seems like I have missed my slot and cant sleep at all.
9. Big increase in pre cum fluid
8M+ After studying this for a while, this varies each time, generally the less PC the better the experience.
10. Blood in urine 3 months after PSSD started, this lasted for about 3-4 weeks….had cystoscopy, nothing found….though because the blood was at the end of the urine stream, it was thought the source of the blood was the prostate….no blood since…I wonder if this has any connection?
11. Pain in perineum/prostate area.
8M+. This had developed into a “cloud” like region of pain around the entire genital area…2x paracetamol and 2x Ibruprofen, give me a great relief.
12. Sensitivity reduced…having been circumcised at around four years old, there is quite a bit of scar tissue, strangely this has retained its sensitivity.
8M+ No change.
Male
PSSD after 3 days on Sertraline (50mg) (Aurobindo) December 2016 to date.
Tinnitus, insomnia (1.5 hours/night sleep) poor memory/cognition as a bonus!
Possibly PSSD from October 1998...just didn't realise what I was suffering from! (pre internet)

Yeah, thanks for saying that. It’s good for me to recognize that I’ve made some sort of improvement because I get extremely discouraged by PSSD symptoms a lot of the time and I fear that I won’t ever get better since I’ve never had any windows. It’s pretty bizarre and extremely frustrating to feel both hypersexual and super frigid at the same time. But I guess it’s still an improvement. And when I think about how much pain I was in when I quit taking Prozac and I first realized I had PSSD… I was in pretty intense physical pain and I remember thinking I wouldn’t even care about having my sexuality back, I just didn’t want to be in constant pain anymore. So yeah, it could definitely be worse.

I’m still experimenting with different supplements, not giving up, but right now my priority is trying to get my depression and anxiety to a more manageable level. And that is reaaaalllly giving me a run for my money.

…Who forgot? I’m not sure if this was directed at me or not but pleasureless orgasm is one of the symptoms I experience as well. Being unable to have a satisfying orgasm means having one less way of coping with anxiety too, and it can put stress on a relationship. I have noticed that this fluctuates with my cycle, so like, a week or so before my period, orgasms will sometimes feel better than the rest of the time. I think this was true before I got PSSD too though; just a hormonal thing, I guess.

Thought that is the best thread to leave a personal update. Today i had obvious improvements in terms of libido, erections, build up and orgasm. I woke up with strong morning wood and everytime i concentrated on thinking about sex, i had a full erection (by no touching) with no soft glans like the other times. I decided to jack off ( had not done it for 6 days) and was surprised to see that it felt WAY better than the previous times. Intense build up, ALMOST PERFECT pre- cum and amazing orgasm. It usually felt like rubbing a rubber until i came to an orgasm ( within seconds). Today it actually felt great before orgasm and it lasted longer too. Bad news is that few hours after that my penis shrunk and got cold and i lost any sense of libido.. Why everytime i ejaculate my condition worsens considerably and i have to wait for days before i " recover"? And i only do it like once a week.. Anyway i hope that was not t.m.i . I just felt like sharing my positive experience.
