Hello all. Is this PSSD?
I'm 16M. I took one pill of Sertraline 50mg. I had no symptoms, but increased libido, for a couple of weeks. I think I crashed somewhere around 3 weeks. I didn't notice for about a month, when I realized I hadn't had an erection in a while.
Now it's been 5 months and my symptoms are: No sensation of pleasure or temperature in glans head, weak erections, no libido
Mild brain fog/memory issues
No emotional symptoms/anhedonia
I did some searching on Reddit and I found that most people who get pssd from a single pill, symptoms usually start for them immediately (same-day or a couple hours). But in my case I was completely fine for 2-3 weeks with normal libido and erection quality. However I don't remember if my glans was numb during this time.
I also had some very stressful periods in the last 5 months. The symptoms started before these periods however. I developed some mild gyno after the stress, not sure if it could be related.
Edit: changed symptoms description because TMI

Just wait next 5 months. Dont panick, you dont seems to have serious PSSD. even if it doesn't get better next 5 months. you will be much more better in a year or two.
You are only 16, You have plenty of time. Some people here have waited even 10 years. Me myself has suffered 7 years long since I was 16. Never felt what is love or sex.

It could be. Sometimes people get delayed effects like this when they stop an SSRI. It can even happen months later. We don't know why.
I would try not to worry about it too much. In time you might notice that it very gradually returns to normal. Sometimes people can take a year or two but they do eventually recover. I would be very careful about taking any SSRI again in future though as it could make things worse.
What were you taking the Sertraline for? Why did you stop it?

@Kael
Thank you for the reassurance. I'm trying not to panic and dwell too much on the forums because I know that can make it worse. I'm lucky my case is quite mild. Or you could say I'm unlucky in that I got it from a single pill..
I feel like it's a lot more common than it seems actually. Due to factors like underreporting, misdiagnosis as depression, or people not making the connection to the drugs (it took even me 4 months to realize). I read a study that said like 50% of people had sexual smptoms 6 months after discontinuation. So clearly it's not that rare.
I'm very sorry what you experienced. These drugs should be illegal

@andy013
I was forced to take it for "depression" by my parents. Looking back on it, now I realise it was just a situational depression caused by a poor home environment.
First they brought me the Zoloft and told me to take it, that it would make me happy and fix all my problems. I immediately had a bad feeling about it and didn't take it.
Then I had a bit of a stressful period with school and things, and I was feeling particularly down one day, so I told my parents I was depressed.
They took me to a psychiatrist, and naively I was honest with them, I thought that they could help me. I told them I was sad because of my environment. But of course they don't believe in that, they told me I have a "chemical imbalance" in my brain and there's nothing wrong with my parents, which I guess is exactly what they wanted to hear.
Then they grabbed me and fucking locked me up in the psych ward for 5 days! For depression! I don't know how that's legal, or how they think locking someone in a prison cell and drugging them is a good treatment for depression.
They stood there and made me take the Zoloft while they watched. I hid it behind my teeth and spit it out later when they weren't looking. I only messed up one time and accidentally swallowed it. Now who knows if that mistake is going to haunt me forever.

Your story is so much similar to mine.
Same story at age 16 it happened. Due to poor home environment, I was violent. Drugged with prozac . Yes it made me happy. But after 6 months I stopped it and after 2 months of withdrawal I had numbness.
But mistakes I made, I didn't know it was pssd and further went to psychiatry and thought their drug would fix me as the drug caused it.
Man I never knew what darkness I was further getting lost into.
Yes man in 3 years of horror I took so many drugs as in my signature. Finally found reddit pssd. I threw all drugs and here I am 4 years free of all drugs 7 years of pssd.
I am finally getting better.
So far my conclusion is people try this and that nothing workes. You need to eat green leafy vegie and ligh protein. Take some supplement like fish oil, zinc magnesium....and b vitamins.
And pray to god. Other than that you don't have anything in the control.
It is very deep problem none knows.
