Re: Spyros 100% cured by Estrogen + TRT
Yes. Spyros thought people with PFS/PSSD/PAS had become "'estrogen resistant", which means high doses would not affect them like random people. Which explains why, in the scope of the theory, short-term high doses of E2 was not too dangerous.
Re: Spyros 100% cured by Estrogen + TRT
Interesting. Did Spyros ever discontinue the E2 therapy or is he still taking it? I wonder if using something less invasive, like resveratrol for example, could help? As it can increase estrogen receptor beta activity while not disturbing the ERa subtype, the most concerning one.
Perhaps someone could use a combination of TRT with resveratrol to accomplish this? I would like to find an alternative path to just experimenting with straight up estradiol supplementation.
I've never taken estrogen directly, but I know it must be at least part of my personal problem considering my anxiety always seems to diminish while on aromatase inhibitors...albeit sometimes my libido is worse.

"Acute estradiol exposure in rodents increases 5HTT mRNA and protein levels (McQueen, Wilson, Sumner, & Fink, 1999; Sumner et al., 1999; Sumner et al., 2007) whereas chronic estradiol administration decreases 5HTT mRNA levels in monkeys."

"Yet our data shows that estrogen, at least when given acutely, inhibits the inhibitory effect of SSRIs on SERT function, which is not consistent with such a clinical effect."
"Our data show that progesterone, similar to estrogen, interferes with the ability of an SSRI to block SERT function. Progesterone however had no effect on basal SERT function."

Probably not a cure but acute estrogen usage could provide symptom relief but long term use may worsen symptoms.

Re: Spyros 100% cured by Estrogen + TRT
I have been visiting this forum from time to time for three years, and I came across this story. More and more, I have the impression that most of non-psychological recoveries (I know it's quite subjective on my part…) reported have all involved antidepressants or hormones (or time!). However, I am surprised not to see more positive or negative feedback on the high-dose TRT approach. No one else has tried this? Isn't that one of the first actions a doctor would try if depression is ruled out?
