Safe medicines for OCD?

Unread post by npiccio »

Hello everybody. I am 32 years old. I have always had obsessive disorder. I have been going to a psychologist for 2 years, I am much better but the obsessive thoughts do not go away, I have continuous relapses. I am continuing to go to the piscologist without taking antidepressants (he strongly recommends them), but without fear of not making it. I believe that without antidepressants I will commit suicide. The psychiatrist does not prescribe Tianeptine and Moclobemide because he does not know them, among other things in Italy they are not for sale. He offered me Vortioxetine, but I think it has the same effects as SSRIs. Please help me, is it possible that there is no safe OCD drug? I need to take something, I've been fighting for years but without drugs I'm afraid I won't make it. Is there really nothing in the world that is effective and safe? Please answer me. Thanks and sorry for my English.

Are you going to psychologist specialised in OCD? You can increase ERP therapy effeciency by psychedelics. But they have their own issues. Besides this I am not sure is there anything for OCD except SSRI

In addition to OCD, I offer a disdain, depression, anxiety, which lead me to sexual problems (I cannot have intercourse). This is why I am doing cognitive behavioral therapy with a psychotherapist and sexologist, I have had great improvements but also terrible relapses.

ERP is better for OCD than other therapies. Look for specialized psychologist and check r/ocd
