Benzodiazepine improvements
Benzodiazepine improvements
Hi, I haven't read much about benzodiazepines in here, so I wanted to report my own experience, if this could help some people.
Short background (see my story for detailed background): I stopped SSRIs in May 2020, got mild PSSD... until I discovered PSSD. Since then, my PSSD has swung between this state (I call it my "PSSD baseline") and a much lower. I really think these "swings" are due to mood (anxiety/depression) and/or health (sleep, diet) factors.
It is like PSSD lowered my sexual function, making it much more sensitive to mood and health (before, my libido was rock hard, any time, any mood)
I have been taking a somehow low dose of oxazepam (10mg) since this week-end, in order to cope with my sleep issues, and like previous time in September, it brought me quite immediately (after a few days) up to my PSSD baseline: reduced numbness, increased flaccid size (normal size), increased (but still low) libido, no ED, etc.
From my experience, I think benzo would be a good way to fix some symptoms due to anxiety and leave only symptoms due to something else (iatrogenic, depression, etc.). Besides, it looks like a "low risk" experiment, if short-term.
It could be interesting to share experiences.

No... I believe a beta blocker is better for your strategy.
Benzos will slow every pathway down. They are known to slightly reduce libido, and arousal and delay and mute orgasm a little.
Propranolol only blocks beta adrenergic receptors, and it crosses the BBB. So you cancel the effect of high adrenaline/noradrénaline

Re: Benzodiazepine improvements
Normally benzodiazepines relax and sometimes can low the libido.
But for people with anxiety/ stress it can help.

Re: Benzodiazepine improvements
benzos reduce my libido, but then the next morning there is some kind of rebound effect going on where I get morning wood, weird
Re: Benzodiazepine improvements
No, I took them only twice, for a few days, when I was a zombie due to lack of sleep.
I have been more or less around my baseline for some months, with hydroxyzine for sleep.

If your sexual problem comes from anxiety benzos can help.
Re: Benzodiazepine improvements
I don’t really have sexual problems. My issue is I don’t feel anything (including sexually)
