Straining to start peeing & very weak stream
Straining to start peeing & very weak stream
Does anyone else have this? Could it mean anything? Tight or weak pelvic floor? Literally had the weakest pee stream for the last 5 years and I have to strain to get started. Could this be causing my numb penis problems?

Yeah usually tight pelvic floor would cause such issues. Do you have tight muscles around your hips, adductors, hamstrings? Bowel movement issues?

Urologist also didn't find anything on me. Says must be mind made and that the mind can cause pelvic floor/ prostatitis etc..and I actually lean towards that. Regardless I'm taking Bethanechol for it. Whether genuinely contracting my bladder or placebo, It's already pretty much a reversed manifestation. You may want to give it a shot.

Does it feel like u need to pee but difficult to do or you don't have much urging feeling in bladder? Prostate problems excluded?

So I feel the need to pee then I go to the toilet and stand there squeezing trying to start then it starts and stops a few times mid way through. Stop start stop start.. and weak stream.kpavel wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 5:18 am Does it feel like u need to pee but difficult to do or you don't have much urging feeling in bladder? Ps I used to take finasteride (whilst on cit) as I’ve had a hair transplant and doc told me to take to slow down hair loss. Took it for about a month. Thinking back this pee problem might’ve started then! I didn’t associate it with that though but looking back it was around the same time. I didn’t have genital numbness back when I took it though so don’t think it was that that caused my numbness. Numbness started maybe a year or 2 after finasteride (whilst on citalopram)
I’ve spent a lot of money on tests as was worried by this pee problem but nothing was ever found so it’s a mystery... I’ve always found this problem weird as no specialist even knows why I have an abnormal pee problem at 29/30 years old (back when it started)

Re: Straining to start peeing & very weak stream
I've read old people with micturition problem use tamsulosin (alpha blocker). ALso people mention things like apple cider vinegar, cranberry and pomegranate juice for infections. Bethanechol is m3 cholinergic agonist. It helps bladder to contract. If there was an obstruction they would find it I guess. ATP enhancing sups could help cause purinergic receptors deal with detrusor/bladder contractions too (and morphine seems to be associated with incontinence). And they help low oxygen in tissues/nerve issues. Overstraining isn't good for the problem.

Overstraining isn’t good for numbness?kpavel wrote: ↑Sun Oct 18, 2020 6:05 am I've read old people with micturition problem use tamsulosin (alpha blocker). I wonder if I should try to never push out my pee and just wait until I’m busting so it starts easily!
I saw Meso say bethanechol can cause numbness in some people! It’s a nightmare all this! Just as I find compounds to try I always see that they can mess some people up

Re: Straining to start peeing & very weak stream
A few guys reported numbness while trialing it. I saw some research today, they say the problem isn't completely resolved by any treatment, but I see number of studies really much increased these 2-3 years. Probably there are some techniques helping it. Serotonin definitely influences bladder activity too. So maybe buspirone makes sense.
