Avoid 5HTP, it has given some people permanent sexual dysfunction.

People, stop trying to increase serotonin with any substances.
SSRIs have made your nervous system very sensitive to serotonergic substances.
Last year, I discontinued fluvoxamine. I got "only" genital deafness but recovered again.
Then at the end of the year I felt worse, I tried 5HTP as an alternative.
I got a panic attack from it.
So I preheated St. John's wort, I got a headache and dizziness after about 3 weeks.
In the clinic then completely desperate I tries Trazodone and bang, PSSD!
Now I got the receipt for playing with my nervous system!
June 2015 - April 2016 Fluoxetine
April 2016 - March 2017 Fluvoxamine
December 2017 9 days Trazodone
After Trazodone PSSD: loss of libido & spontaneous/night/morning erections, prostate/pelvic pain, genital numbness, lower sperm count, Anhedonia

Probably serotonergics are best avoided but it isn't as easy to write off everything as harmful. I also had negative experience with 5htp. But Bacopa for example, which according to some sources raises serotonin, has reportedly benefited many on this forum if you read the thread. Of course I am tempted to try some but worried about serotonin effect.
