That's awesome to hear Numby82. I'm a bit surprised you got such a good effect from 150mg alone -- in the literature I read (and what my own prescribing doc told me) most people with sexual dysfunction don't respond until they hit 300mg. I myself (female) got no effect from Wellbutrin until I got up to 300mg.

@bunny and North4: I understand your thoughts. I, myself, am very surprised. But I can feel the effect every day. I take the pill early in the morning and then the “feeling” somehow increases throughout the day. However, I am still not convinced that this effect is permanent. And because of my “fluoxetine experience”, I’m extremely alert to (negative) side effects. I’ll let you know immediately if anything changes.

sounds good numby82, i will give this a try again, starting very low dose. maybe i toke to much of it, at this stage i thought "more is better".

I wonder if Wellbutrin would be an interesting med for low dosing as well?

Wellbutrin is marketed as Elontril in Germany. The regular dose for an adult is 300mg (starting with 150mg). However, Elontril are controlled-release tablets/Tablets with modified drug release (“Retardtabletten”) and there is an explicit warning in the leaflet not to split the pills because this would alter the release mechanism and, thus, may lead to overdosing/more side effects. This is why I think microdosing could be difficult. I don’t know about Wellbutrin in the US or other countries, maybe these are not controlled-release tablets.

Personally, I am not too excited because I more or less expect the positive effect to fade away, although I hope it won’t. I want to give this some time and see what happens. It may be because I am oversensitive towards everything connected to sexuality at the moment, but I fear that genital sensitivity has decreased a little although libido ist still very high. So let’s wait and see.

Are convulsions a real concern while on this drug or is it just warning for legal issues?

I accidentally got a seizure taking 600mg. It does happen.

Wellbutrin update: The positive effect on genital sensitivity and libido has vanished. Everything is back to the “pre Wellbutrin” level. Still, it was so good to experience how beautiful sexuality can be after 10 “numb years”.

Edit (March 1, 2019): When I upped the dose to 300mg, all the positive effects returned and they are permanent for me. I am now on 150/300mg every other day (one day 150, one day 300mg). I haven't tried tapering though, so I can't say if Bupropion has cured me.

Damn. I'm sorry to hear that. Have you thought about cycling? (This is what I used to do -- I'd take breaks from it every month and then go back on.) Or going up to 300mg?
