I've tried the low-dose buspirone 1 mg/day: these are the benefits I felt

Unread post by Determined-Mind »

Abstract :

The buspirone micro-dose of 1 mg / day slightly improves sensory attention and bodily sensations of pleasure. I was surprised to see benefits so quickly.
Perhaps it's due to a synergy with the 10 mg lithium orotate I'm taking? In any case, of all the drugs and herbs I've tried, buspirone is the only substance to have played a clear role in improving my sensory attention.
Given its synergistic and complementary benefits to lithium, I intend to continue taking it.

Details of my test with a low dose of buspirone:

September 10: 1 mg buspirone taken at 7 p.m.

(I diluted a 5 mg tablet with 5 mL of water: disgusting taste)

Context: I've been taking 10 mg lithium orotate (Swanson brand) every morning for several days.

Result: At around 9 p.m., while watching a film, I felt chills. It had been over two months since I'd felt this (the last time was on June 10, 2024, according to my notes). So this is the same kind of sensory and emotional experience I've already had when taking 15 mg lithium orotate + 250 mcg Huperzine A.

September 11, morning: 1 mg busprione + 10 mg lithium orotate

I added 4 mL of water to my buspirone container and swallowed 2 mL (= 1 mg). Much milder taste.

Result: I was productive all day! At no time did I play video games, a sign that I had enough energy to work all day long.
Again, the same effect as when I took 15 mg of lithium orotate.

Evening: a little shivering during the film, but less than the day before.

Night, around 2 a.m.: my partner stroked my body for 20 minutes and it was pleasant. On the other hand, I had a lot of trouble going back to sleep (I wasn't able to for more than 2 hours).

September 12 morning: 1 mg busprione + 10 mg lithium orotate

Morning: more tired

Early afternoon: sexual closeness with my partner, which we usually never do. I felt more sensations on my body. The intimate experience lasted much longer than usual, and I've never screamed as loud as I did that time. As usual, my body/vocal expression didn't reflect my subjective experience: I felt maybe 0.25/10. Usually it's 0/10. I felt some pleasant mini-sensations on my vulva, and my partner was himself surprised that I reacted. My vagina lacked tone as usual, which caused him to lose his erection.

Afternoon: more tired.

Around 6 p.m.: I took another 1 mg of buspirone.

Result: A little more energy in the hours that follow, but during the film, I don't feel so many shivers. I'm very tired and go to bed and fall asleep around 9.30pm.

Assessment of the 2 weeks since I went back on lithium on August 30: I've had 4 sexual encounters with my darling, compared with just one during the month when I'd stopped lithium altogether. The low dose of buspirone seems to synergize with the lithium and slightly increase the effects. This mixture helps me appear more normal on the outside, even if my internal hedonic experiences are still severely dysfunctional.

September 13 around 5:20 a.m.: 1 mg busprione + 10 mg lithium orotate

Evening: Difficulty falling asleep + waking up around 3am-4am.

Please never stop taking lithium all at once, it creates real insomnia problems afterwards. I've been having them for a month and a half now. I thought that if I started taking lithium again, I'd be spared, but after 2 weeks of taking it, it's still the same. I hope they'll stop eventually. I'm planning to go back up to 15 mg when I get my new boxes.

September 14: 1 mg busprione + 10 mg lithium orotate

Really tired today and not very productive.

Around 9 a.m. I took 1.2 g of muira puama in the hope that it would help with energy.

Around 1pm, I don't necessarily feel any better. My darling caresses me, I feel pleasant sensations in my thighs but I'm not interested in continuing the contact.

Around 1.30 p.m., I take 500 mg of Kudzu, hoping it will help with my energy.

Around 9pm: My darling stroked my thighs and back: it was pleasant. I felt a little boost of energy in the evening.

September 15: 1 mg busprione + 10 mg lithium orotate

This morning, I woke up with an inspiring idea: micro-dosing flibanserin. I'm very curious to know what it could do. I'll have to wait and see over the next few weeks, as it's not my priority at the moment.
I'm in great shape today. I'm walking a lot and feeling inspired.

10:30-11:15: my darling caressed me for 30 minutes. I felt fewer sensations of pleasure on my thighs, back, etc. than the day before when he caressed me in the evening.

Despite these reduced sensations, in our 10-year relationship, he had never caressed my vulva for so long (I usually push his hand away quite quickly).

For me, the only explanation is that the 1 mg of buspirone improves my sensory attention!

Buspirone is the only substance of all those I've tried that has had such an effect!

September 16: 1 mg busprione + 10 mg lithium orotate

Second night I've slept well. I feel like my insomnia problem is starting to subside, yay!

Next additional tests planned:
- CBG / CBD oil
- Increase lithium orotate to 15 mg
- Micro-dosing of flibanserin

Next time I see my doctor, I'd like to ask:
- Dexedrine for micro-dosing
- Bupropion for micro-dosing
- Naltrexone for micro-dosing

The search goes on!
Improved with lithium orotate + 1 mg buspirone. Next test: addition of CBG + CBD.

Thanks for sharing your experiment, the forum needs more of it!
Having said that, i personally think that a week is far too short to draw any real conclusions, especially when it works on serotonin.
Buspirone is interesting

Yes, I'm going to continue it. But my husband and I have already been impressed to see the benefits so quickly.

Typical response to 5ht1a autoreceptor agonism and slowly developing tolerance. After a while it will stop working and it will get worse-just a warning, with the rest you will see for yourself.
Let's just hope that CBG will block it a bit and prevent a tragedy.

Be careful with it. I developed terrible insomnia from buspirone, and it has continued for over a week now, even after I stopped taking it.
