alteredhomeostasis wrote: Wed Feb 03, 2021 2:09 pm Hey folks,

Just wanted to post an update.

Non sexual stuff: awesome, absolutely crushing it. Job, stock market, hobbies. Really in the zone in a lot of ways.

Sexual stuff: the past month or two I’m doing really damn well. Get boners just by thinking about erotic things. Often have morning wood. Always hard and when masterbating, can usually make myself bust to the first or second video. It’s also like always a really enjoyable experience. Also, If I go a day or two without getting off, it’s like super intense when I do. This is interesting because in the heights of my pssd, it was almost the opposite where the longer I didn’t orgasm the shittier and weaker it was when I finally did.

In terms of my combo, I’m usually doing about 10mg Prozac + 30mg buspirone in the morning. I take a little vyvanse - 10mg maybe, and I’ve been slamming hard seltzer like day and night for the past month which has been grear.

Otherwise : have baby #2 coming in 5-6 weeks so we’ll see how that goes.

Anyone try this combo yet? I’m like maybe 1.5 years into it now? Not sure. But it’s been a steady ride upwards. Quality of life is very high.
Hey man,

Good to hear that things are going well for you. Thanks for the update.
I gave buspirone a try and was potentially willing to try adding SSRI providing buspirone didn't do anything negative.
Well, it increased libido a little for me but worsened ED. I got scared off continuing further due to the worsened ED....
So, I'm really interested as to whether you ever experienced worsening of ED or any other symptoms of PSSD en route to eventually getting the improvements or was it was just gradual improvements all the way?

thanks!

I got scared off continuing further due to the worsened ED.

This combo is very interesting to me, as I am more focused on bringing my mood/interests back to where they were (far better than it was following discontinuation, but it is still putting a massive strain on my relationship). Thank you so much for posting updates! I really needed to hear this today.
Thanks man. Most people here have - imo - very little left to lose - so dont be afraid to try out this or any other combo. Adding some rocket fuel to your diet is a good play. Even if my sexual symptoms werent improving I would still say that this is very worth it

What’s up ppl.

Thought I would check in. Sexually have been really close to normal lately. I could probably call myself cured at this point but I’m not quite back to my old hypersexual ways yet. Still, my function is maybe 85% now. Erections are back to normal (my wood is way stronger now without cialis than it was 1 year ago on cialis). Premature ejaculation is no longer an issue. I have sexual thoughts throughout the day and usually get wood from thinking about erotic things. Get horny here and there. Not like crazy horny like before but I get that itch again.

Overall there’s been a slow and steady improvement. I expect this to continue. Maybe in a year I’ll be 100%. Either way Im pretty happy with where I’m at.

Cheers folks.

Awesome! Great to hear.

Thank you for coming back to update us. I know alot of people don't once they are doing better. I hope things continue to improve for you.

It's comforting to know that this is still an option. I am currently trying a few things, but as the days go by I consider trying this more and more.

Yo Bro, How long have you been in this improvement state?

I mean, since you noticed a kick of improvement.

I am experiencing a bit similar like this with some fluctuations:

Image

Where Y means improvements.

I think a lot of people think something "stopped to work" because they were expecting linear or exponential growth forever.

It looks like, after a while, improvements tend to be smaller for a given time increment, and it's a nature of biological systems. Many biological phenomena follow a graph like the one above (from cellular growth to drug-receptor occupancy).

Improvement increments get smaller over time, also reaching a plateau of saturation, and fluctuating around that. It does not need to be 100% (it's a perfectionist/OCD mental-trap to think like that).

Hey Arhant. I think my chart would like a little different than yours. Maybe like, a step up in improvement and then a long plateau and then up and down but slowly moving higher.

I definitely saw some improvement in the first month or two. Then It kind of steadied for a while, and I have been having like windows and waves for 6 months or so. I'll have a few weeks of really good function and then a few weeks of kinda meh function. But lately, maybe for the past 2 months, its pretty much just been windows. I'm not sure when I started to feel horny again, but lately I'm like starting to badger my girlfriend for sex and its really intense and enjoyable. It really is crazy to me that like a year ago I could barely keep wood during sex and now its like a steel rod.

Anyways. I will come back here periodically.

Hypersexuality is usually a symptom of depression, maybe is a sign you're just not as depressed as before? a normal libido? like a good thing?

Hey, thanks for reporting back.

Did you experience genital numbness? is that symptom reverted back?

Hey Jake,

I get your hyper sexuality comment but I was in perfect mental health up until my mid twenties and was having sex and/or beating off like 5x per day. That was my natural state. I think hyper sexuality as a result of depression is less physical and more of a psychological thing.

Regarding genital numbness.. this symptom is kinda subjective. Some people say they like have a Novocain like numbess - no idea what’s up with that. Others say it’s like diminished pleasure - which I would say is very poorly described by the term numbness.

I definitely had some reduced pleasure but no actual numbness. I would be really surprised if anyone could stick a pin into their genitals and not feel it.
