Was alcohol helping my PSSD?

Unread post by JP1985 »

I stopped drinking 3 weeks ago and feel like I’ve gone from 50-75% good to 10-20%! I’m eating better, exercising more and sleeping better… yet my PSSD is worse. Does anyone know any reason why this would be? Is it just by chance things went worse or was the alcohol helping? It wasn’t when I was actually drinking that I had improvement.. it was the following day or 2 after.. some sort of rebound effect?

If anyone has any ideas what’s going on please let me know.

Ps.. the only thing I’m taking is testosterone cypionate as I had low levels of T after taking citalopram for years. Was the alcohol putting my estrogen levels up possibly? And now no alcohol maybe low levels?

Thanks

J

Alcohol lowers serotonin. When you stop, you feel better because the GABA is downregulated; so you get a Glutamate/Dopamine burst.

How would I replicate this without using alcohol? I want to live healthier but I want to get back to my 60-70%

Histamine inhibits GABA in the *right* area of the Brain (solving Anhedonia), Nitric Oxide raises GABA in the right area of the brain; giving you that healthy balance.
