I think I can't do it anymore

Unread post by malink »

I'm tired. I've been fighting this shit for 6 years. I have tried everything.

I had PSSD between the ages of 25 and 32, the best time to enjoy youth. I lost my girlfriend for this (but I don't regret her!).

I am helpless! My penis does not respond to visual stimuli. I can only get an erection manually in front of porn, but it is very weak and lasts a few seconds. I have maintained the same orgasmic pleasure and my ejaculation has not changed since the PRE PSSD. Only impotence.

Something hormonal has happened, because my body has changed, I have gained pounds and I have constant hair loss (I practically cannot have sex and I have become even uglier!). The only thing the blood tests have shown is hashimoto, but drugs of any dosage and any type (only T4, T3 / T4 and NDT) do not give a solution (the values improve, but the symptoms do not).

Viagra and Cialis don't work. Not even alprostadil! The only thing that, sometimes, but not always, works is PT141 at very high dosages, the rest nothing.

I no longer have the strength to fight, I am writing to you for some comfort, because only those in this forum can understand.

Don’t be lost.

Now: Try low SSRI dose or taking SSRI again for some time and tapper off slowly.
Next: Wait for a solution, maybe coming next years.

We're all being tormented here, buddy.
There's probably nothing as frustrating in life as one's mind-body not responding, acting on a "will" of it's own.. it truly can drive one to despair

Your best bet for knowing how to cope is to get a therapist. Maybe a grief therapist, a CBT therapist, I don't know.

Read Rumi poetry.

Focus on your mental health, we all probably need therapy as we've been traumatized by this.

Also: no one knows the future. I'm assuming you took the SSRI for depression.. I'd continue to tackle that.

I wasn't actually depressed. The doctor only prescribed ssri for premature ejaculation. I, being young, was not informed of the possible side effects. He first prescribed dapoxetine and then, given the high cost, he prescribed escitalopram. I took them when needed and not every day. So I would take it for two days, then five nothing, then I would take it again. My dysfunction occurred during use and not post. I have never stopped the SSRIs, I only stopped them for five days, and then I took them 1/2 times a week. Perhaps this has upset things even more.

Are you still on them?

Do you have any physical changes to your penis? Like shrinkage, pain etc. Pelvic pain or constipation issues ?

Have you considered getting a penile implant as a last resort? I mean, if your only symptom is ED and your libido and orgasm/sensations are at least decent it's worth considering. These implants are getting better year by year and from what I've read on forums they give you a sexual feeling which is close to natural.
The only drawback though is that when you get it, there is no turning back. In other words, you won't have your natural erections back even if there is a cure to PSSD one day.
Trazodone, 25 pills (50/100/150mg), April '19, quit cold turkey

Improved significantly in 3 years. Greatest improvements came within the first year and a half. Still suffering from mild PSSD.

Well, read Rumi poetry and tackle your current mental health as best you can regardless. Your erections are bound to come back doing this, sometimes we think we aren't depressed or anxious but we are.

You being young had nothing to do with being properly informed, none of us were.. You say you've never stopped SSRI?

Did you feel anxious and/or depressed during the use of SSRI?Therapy, get to it. And you're welcome for this and my previous reply.
