Hi, I'm 20 years old female. I was taking for few months venlafaxine, then few months sertraline. About year ago I have stopped taking SSRI. I was trying moclobemide, trazodone and now I'm taking only Bupropion 150mg for about 2 months. It doesnt work, no improvement at all.

I tried Maca and nothing.
What would you recommend for person like me besides sport and healthy food? Before SSRI i was having sex minimum few times a week and I miss it a lot.
My relationship is ending becouse od this :(

Unfortunately, most of the reports like:

"I tried X/Y/Z and nothing."

Lack of more details but are enough to label "ineffective" trials everywhere.

How long have you tried maca? which dose?
The publications around Maca reported improvement in women in around 8 - 12 weeks with daily 3g doses. Is that your case?

The same reasoning can be applied for bupropion, which has lots of improvement reports in about 3 months minimum, based on this post here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PSSD/comments/ ... _hospital/
Also, It's reasonable only considering the elapsed time on a trial after every dose adjustment. Every new dose adjustment resets the "time on it",
because the body can respond quite differently depending on time and dose.

Before getting lost adding more drug/supplements to your regimen, an honest conversation with your partner can alleviate a bit of the "pressure to perform" sexually.
I hope your partner can understand that your body needs time to heal.

Best of luck,
Arahant

I tried Maca from Swanson (1x500mg capsule, extract 4:1) for about 1.5month.

No one has a solution, but some things that have helped at least a couple of people are St Johns Wort and Inositol. I don't believe the combination has been tried. Could also be interesting. Either would likely have to be taken for at least a few weeks.

Let's be honest, even assuming 4:1 extract, one capsule would lead to something around 2g a day, and 1.5 months is not even close to the period studied in clinical trials.

The randomized trial with Maca in women showed results for 12 weeks at 3 g of Maca powder a day:

"A Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Trial of Maca Root as Treatment for Antidepressant-Induced Sexual Dysfunction in Women"
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4411442/
"We conducted a 12-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of maca root (3.0 g/day) in 45 female outpatients (mean age of 41.5 ± 12.5 years) with SSRI/SNRI-induced sexual dysfunction whose depression remitted."

One important note, the selection of patients included ones with total remission of depressive symptoms, but still experienced sexual dysfunction. If you have depressive symptoms, better handle them too.

Forget L-Arginine. You have tried Buprobion? Females help this often more than men.
