Re: Taarn, Ghost, Meso... What is going on now??
1) Be the change you want to see. In 2014, I thought I'd waltz in, work my ass off, and cure PSSD. I probably spent 2-3 hours each day while as a college student. I sacrified a LOT mentally, developmentally, and professionally while being on here daily, and I'd do it all over again. Here is a tough ...

I'm going to be a doctor
Recently I received some very good news - I've been accepted to my state university's medical school for the class of 2026. It's been a bit over 7 years now since PSSD altered the path of my life. Each year brought its own challenges: depression, anxiety, ocd, pssd, and after 2 years of unsuccessful...

Re: PSSD Genome Project [Megathread]
It would be nice to summarize the results with p-values and a Manhattan plot. You can do a simple test of proportions against the control group. Do you have any phenotype information on the PSSD subjects? I am a statistical geneticist I would be happy to help with this. YES! I'll shoot you a PM and...

Re: Ghost Intro
Hi Ghost, It is nice to see you on the forum again. Your name was recently mentioned here : I really hated how taarn, Ghost and many others left when they were cured without leaving a goodbye thread Is it true that you are cured? If so, what has helped you most? Do you have any fresh tips for us? I...

Re: PSSD Genome Project [Megathread]
Large update to the PSSD Genome project ( https://pssdlab.wordpress.com/raw-data-pssd-interactive-genome-project/ ) A huge detractor from the research I was trying to do was finding a control group to compare us against. I used to do this with 20 sample genomes I found online. That control group was...

Re: PSSD Genome Project [Megathread]
I have donated a huge amount of money to pssdlab. I didn't get any feedback, so I explicitely asked if he got my donation. No reply. I guess the website is dead. I feel really bad, having sent this huge amount of money into the Nirvana. Site is not dead! I REALLY appreciate the donation. I logged o...

Re: PSSD Genome Project [Megathread]
@Ghost Are you sure you posted the raw data? I only see a Spreadsheet containing frequencies and a link to snpedia. I should clarify, I posted the raw data the program generated. Some time in the near furure I'm going to run it against the frequencies posted on the NCBI website. RE rs1042778: I don...

Re: PSSD Genome Project [Megathread]
The more genomes the better! If we had, for example, a 5% error rate due to noise from not having enough genomes, that would work out to around 1,400 inaccurate data points from the 28k from 23andme v4. I'm hoping that publishing this data again in 2021 stirs up a few more people to buy the 23andme ...

Re: PSSD Genome Project [Megathread]
I have some exciting news to share on a project I've been working on for a while now. I have compiled a .csv dataset for the 30 PSSD genomes I've collected the past 2 years (huge thanks to all who sent them in). This means that any person can now search for allele frequency of around 28k snps on the...

Re: I'm updating the Recoveries section of my site [10/20]
It's that time again. I'm looking to update the recoveries section of my site. When looking at the stats on there I see it getting a lot of views which tells me that it is an important resource for a lot of people. I'll work on updating any dead links from when we changed from .com to .org. If anyon...
