Re: Fundraising for research Prof. Roberto Cosimo Melcangi
From what i know these funds will be used to carry out further analysis within the study which had been funded by Coraggio. The initial requirements was 18K but the fundraising was set at 10K just to see if the thing would have worked. Of course the more money will be provided the deeper the analysi...

Re: This might be the key! Androgen function in the spotlight.
The document, containing the theory concerning the PFS (but there are links with the other syndromes) will be released as soon as it is ready, I am not dealing with it therefore I do not know when it will be possible, I only know that there is a rich bibliography with many sources. I would like to u...

Re: This might be the key! Androgen function in the spotlight.
One of the main hypotheses of pfs concerns a deficiency of the androgenic signal. Specifically, the intake of substances with anti-androgenic activity would first lead to an overexpression of the androgen receptor (to compensate for the lack of hormone caused by the drug). Upon cessation of the inta...

Re: Why don't you contribute to the propeciahelp survey?
I'll post here a link to a very important thread on propeciahelp: Axolotl wrote: "Hi all, I am writing to remind you that you can participate in a valuable research project if you have experienced persistent symptoms for a minimum of three months after stopping finasteride, isotretinoin, or SSR...

Re: This might be the key! Androgen function in the spotlight.
Soon, we hope, our friends Axolotl and Awor will be able to release on Propeciahelp their hypothesis about the etiopathogenetic mechanism of PFS on Propeciahelp, it was a long and demanding job full of interesting ideas, extremely rigorous from a methodological point of view. It would be very import...

Re: This might be the key! Androgen function in the spotlight.
Hi @fuckthisisscience, welcome to the forum. Your theory is very interesting, we would be happy to hear more. As you may know, recently there have been strong contacts between the communities of the sufferers (PSSD, PFS, PAS, etc ...). The actual hypothesis, which is emerging above all from epidemio...

Re: SJW Always Cures My PSSD- kramdrol OP
so here the question is if even taking other kinds of serotonin increasing agents we would have developed PSSD. I think we can speculate that maybe the action on SERT is a mechanism too strong for some people, maybe other ways of neurotransmitter's modulation would have been less harmful...

Re: SJW Always Cures My PSSD- kramdrol OP
I am examining some studies (in particular this systematic review) concerning the use of SJW in psychiatric treatments. In particular, it is shown that out of 16 studies in which SJW was compared to classic antidepressants (SSRIs, TCAs), at least an equivalence in the efficacy was noted in the effec...
