Re: Results of a new study on genital/peripheral nerve treatment of patients with PSSD, PFS and PAS

Not sure with the first two, but SSRI and psych drug related syndromes with includes PSSD are central with certainty except for outlier cases. I have been able to without a doubt rule out peripheral involvement, probably even the spinal cord in my case even though it's part of the CNS, all of my sym...

Re: Crashed bad on Lamictal

Recent research into visual snow syndrome, common with psych drug withdrawal. I have VSS very bad myself. They found with a complete PET scan screening of all the neurotransmitters across control, migraine and VSS people, in VSS specifically glutamate and serotonin pathways heavy in 2a receptors had...

Re: Are there safer antibiotics?

As long as you aren't allergic to this class, then the old fashioned penicillin class is perfectly safe. The newer types can/are be neuro-active and upset those recovering from withdrawal syndromes including PSSD. I had full general anesthetic oral surgery and I opted out of all the drugs except Pro...

Re: 90% improvement with lithium carbonate 450 mg

It is very rare to see any reports of someone improving with mood stabilizers. With so many stories of improvement with different random medications, sometimes I wonder if this really isn't a problem with depression that we worsened by using the wrong drug. That is what a lot of counselors and doct...

Re: How long is your refractory perioid after pssd?

I can have as much orgasms as I want, but no sex drive and ed, could this still be pssd? Anorgasmia is one of the marked symptoms of PSSD, it's nearly impossible to cum, so that SSRIs are prescribed off label for people with premature ejaculation. I guess no sex drive and difficulty to sustain erec...

Re: How long is your refractory perioid after pssd?

Varies a lot for me, sometimes 5 min, sometimes overnight if I do it at night and having a bad period with not much morning wood (12h I guess) but more like 1-4 hours if I am not thinking about or planning sex. If I really try, I can do it a few times a day but not like I was pre "depression&qu...

Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?

A week in after stopping the Moclobemide and it's withdrawals are more typical from what I have read or been told that antidepressants do. But I can be happy to say the adverse reactions have stopped instantly and the persistent symptoms have improved some and stopped escalating like it was while on...

Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?

Well that's good news at least for the erections. I too hope my soft glans issues resolve with time and I think they will as I get instances where it's close to normal. also with any kind of SD, I found erections for me at least to be the last thing to improve in the past. Funny you mention the PE....

This is great to see it's being recognized and taken more seriously now and how each person needs to be looked at uniquely, it's not a one size fits all situation by any stretch.

Re: I recovered 80% from PSSD and was happy, then took meds again

As the above post. I beileve all drugs that interact with neurobiological processes can potentially lead to neuro-adaptation that can lead to PSSD and related syndromes. I am a firm believer that PSSD is just a manifestation of a broader withdrawal/drug syndrome. Mine was not caused by SSRIs, even t...
