Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?
Well that's good news at least for the erections. I too hope my soft glans issues resolve with time and I think they will as I get instances where it's close to normal. also with any kind of SD, I found erections for me at least to be the last thing to improve in the past. Funny you mention the PE....

Re: Strong case for dopamine
Rexulti gave me PSSD. It affects dopamine D2 and D3 as well as serotonin 5-HT1A, primarily. I'll link to the Wiki description after my anecdote. Antipsychotics may be of particular interest re: dopamine. We need to consider people like me who have permanent sexual dysfunction and other changes after...

Re: One pill 9 years later
Very sorry to hear. Glad about your optimism. I'm 4 years in myself, after Rexulti in 2019. I'll be 34 this year. Got PSSD at 29.

Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?
Checking back in. Still struggling. I've concluded that ejaculating makes everything far worse. On longer periods of semen retention I almost feel like I have some degree of hope. More recently, I had sex for a few minutes, which is the second time that's happened in about 4 years since PSSD in 2019...

Re: 34 Year old male. Abilify pssd
I got PSSD from Rexulti, made by the same company as Abilify and is a very similar drug, but even stronger. This is why I call PSSD "PPSD" for "Post Psychotropic Sexual Dysfunction." If you look up Abilify, there's a study where it caused spontaneous ejaculation in a patient with...

Re: A paladin of PSSD hurt me to death
... thank you for telling your story, it is terrifying but also interesting to see where and how PSSD has crept in over the course of life. Perhaps there are not a few cases where PSSD (or similar syndrome) comes on people who were already suffering a lot and for a long time. hurts that add up to m...

Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?
Update: soft glans issue seems to have resolved. I've been using Mag-a-Hol applied directly to my penis, followed by a little MCT oil, 2 to 3 times a day. My recipe for "mag-a-hol" is as follows: 1/2 cup vodka 1/2 cup water 1 cup magnesium chloride flakes (USP) 1 tablespoon potassium chlor...

Re: A paladin of PSSD hurt me to death
Narcissism, yes. My ex was a narcissist. And her breaking up with me after love bombing me, gaslighting me for 3.5 years, and discarding me, is what led to me 'breaking' and becoming so depressed that I broke my vow to never try medication again. I trusted my psychiatrist and told him I'd take whate...

Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?
Did you experience any physical symptoms after stopping Rexulti? like sensory/motor issues? Good to confirm I am not the only one who had issues coming off them. I am still on them (reintroduced in Jan to stop the symptoms from worsening and extreme anxiety) and in the general thread area I have my...

Re: Enduring sexual dysfunction due to Abilify (an antipsychotic) - still considered PSSD?
I had the same with Rexulti, sexual function was fine and good for the first 18 months then after that point I got delayed onset (tardive) of side effects including sexual dysfunction (no erections(were ok when able to get aroused rarely), inability to translate sexual dire into arousal) I stopped ...
