Re: Severe sleep deprivation always causing full blown recovery

For the last month I experienced 2 times a severe sleep deprivation when I didn't sleep for 2 days due to work. Every single time I had a temporary recovery which manifested in following improvements: 1. Completely lifted anhedonia 2. Able to fantasize and was able to feel romantic emotions and lov...

Re: PSSD article in Mashable, 1 December 2022

Oh dear. I initially thought: Yay! Exposure of PSSD! I read in and thought: FFS. It's the standard poorly-researched article including treatment for what is blatantly SSRI-induced sexual dysfunction, you know, the one that goes away. It's riddled with inaccuracies and I hope Mashable didn't waste to...

Re: Dailymail, 1 Oct 2022: REVEALED: The hidden epidemic of sexual dysfunction which experts blame on SSRI antidepressan

I have contacted 40 editorial offices in my country also linking the Dailymail article, saying that such an article would be important and that I can put them in touch with patients, doctors and researchers in my country. we will see if I remedy anything. What a great idea- I hope you get someone's...

Re: New Podcast “Medical Minefield”:Are antidepressants leaving patients with sexual problems for life?

Ellie Cannon has a bloody nerve! She's a rentagob TV GP who, after the Moncrieff paper debunking the serotonin theory broke, went on TV to debate Professor Moncrieff. Ellie sat there rolling her eyes, acting like a petulant child. She accused Moncrieff of 'cherry picking' the papers included in her ...

Re: Spinal tap and 100% resolution of PSSD

I was talking about your case with another sufferer just 3 days ago. We are researching but till now we have no clue. But just for the record: I have a syrix in my spinal chord, chest high. There was also Kaleb who suffered from spinal chord issues, got surgery and got cured. 🤔 My case baffles me. ...

Re: PSSD could be small fiber polyneuropathy

Hey all - so I kind of stopped posting here because I don't think the majority of people on this forum want to be productive. They are so fixated on finding a supplement to magically and suddenly reverse their condition, and the PFS lobby is really trying to wrap our condition up with theirs and fo...

Re: Pssd could be an ghrelin dysfunction induced by serotonin 2c antagonism that caused antibodies on that same receptor

It's an interesting idea. I note that a new paper on the gut microbiome suggests that the bacteria influence inflammation and insulin resistance which in turn alter leptin and ghrelin... https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/andr.13143 I'm not sold on the microbiome theories for PSSD, but it i...

Re: erotic dreams and nocturnal erections

I'd also add that orgasms when we are awake depend on physical stuff happening. Can anybody just lie there awake and make themselves have an orgasm with no touch? Not many. Yet many people, including some with PSSD, can orgasm during their sleep. Whatever causes sexual sequences during sleep is stil...

Re: erotic dreams and nocturnal erections

I would say that we genuinely don't know, but PSSD-denying doctors would probably interpret it as such. (I would counter this by suggesting they ask their patient whether they had loss of erotic touch or experienced sexual dysfunction before they touched an SSRI.) I would say that the symptoms are s...
